David Morrissey

David Morrissey is Country Head, Ireland at FundBank, where he oversees FundBank’s Irish operations and will be responsible for driving growth and providing strategic direction for the bank. David will play a pivotal role in operational leadership and business development and will lead all aspects of client service delivery across multiple banking product and service lines for FundBank’s Ireland-based clients.

Professional Experience

David has over 30+ years of experience in product development and client service of European & offshore alternative assets funds across key global fund centres including the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

David joined FundBank from Fund Recs, a developer of cloud-based reconciliation software for the global funds industry, where he acted as Strategic Adviser. Prior to this, David was Global Head of Client Solutions, and Chief Commercial Officer at Waystone where he led the Global Sales Team in achieving annual revenue growth across multiple product lines.

Earlier in his career, David held the role of Managing Director of the Business Development Group at SEI Investments Global Investment Services, where he led the European Team and was responsible for developing new product services, including their Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) solution. Joining SEI in 1997, David first served in various operational roles, and later in Client Service and Business Development Units.

Educational Background

David was educated at Newman College, Ireland and has an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), DipIFR/ACCA in Business Accounting and Finance, and is certified in Investments and Securities from the Institute of Bankers. He has been a frequent panellist and speaker at industry events and seminars covering fund structuring, AIFMD Directive and its impact on investment managers accessing capital in the European market. In addition, David has received academic awards from University College Dublin in Investment Banking and Private Portfolio Investment Planning and initially joined the Institute of Bankers of Ireland in 1994. David’s extensive academic and professional background underpins his strategic leadership and expertise in his role at FundBank.
