Gillian Van Schaick

Gillian Van Schaick is a Risk Management Executive and Chief Compliance Officer with over 35 years of experience in financial services and Enterprise Risk Management.  At FundBank, Gillian is interim President and CEO of its North America operation.

Gillian’s expertise covers a broad spectrum, including; banking, capital markets, investment management, broker dealers, swap dealers, trust companies, consumer regulations, AML and the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

Gillian’s banking career has included senior and strategic roles at JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs and HSBC, where she was a member of the Executive Committee.  She has specific expertise in advising on regulatory requirements for retail and corporate segments, and implementing effective compliance and Enterprise Risk Management programs.  Throughout her career, Gillian has maintained a track-record of proven results in implementing sufficient and sustainable control frameworks to address regulatory Consent Orders.

In previous roles, Gillian has been a member of the Audit Committee of a public-company board and has chaired board-level committees including the Risk and Compliance Committee, as well as the Asset and Liability Committee.

A creative and innovative leader, Gillian is passionate about developing future leaders and about the use of technology as an enabler of change.  Gillian is a native French speaker and is also fluent in Spanish.  In 2023, Gillian received a certificate in cyber security governance. She is a graduate of Georgetown University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and French. She received her MBA in Finance from Columbia University’s Executive MBA Program.
